Modern tattooing is as complex as the artists and collectors who love it. The balance between upholding traditions and thoughtfully applying them to the job every day can be increasingly challenging. I think the best way to face these challenges is through conversations with those who are directly, and sometimes even indirectly involved in tattooing.

This podcast is a one-man operation. I started a YouTube channel at the end of 2016 and began making satirical videos about tattooing. The response identified a problem to me..some people will believe anything they see online. No matter how ridiculous the videos got, there will be endless comments asking "is this real?"

As much as I enjoy blurring the line between fact and fiction, BOOKS CLOSED gives me a chance to share my discussions of these topics with some of the best tattooers. Their opinions and experiences are invaluable input to tattoo artists, collectors and appreciators, as we all try to navigate the current tattoo industry.
